Playing Games to Make Money at King.com

Yes you heard right, you can actually make real cash playing games online. There have been plenty of scam websites or high payout requirement websites in the past where you could win money but needed to win a certain threshold (often unattainable) to cash out your winnings.

You could also play Poker for money and that’s a whole website I could write about how to make money playing Online Poker. I’ll probably write an article series soon enough about making money with Online Poker so stay tuned!

Anyhow, let’s get back to the topic, making money playing online games. At King.com you can play other people and make money. King.com takes a share of the entry cost for every game you play and you and your opponent(s) play for the pot. You can play head-to-head games and multiplayer games, with some major jackpots that could involve thousands of players!

There are also jackpot cups available for a limited time that you could actually win hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars!

Before I go on, let me tell you that I am in no way affiliated to King.com. I do not make any money by telling you to go there or having you click my links, I am simply another person that plays games there and since I have been somewhat successful making money there, I am sharing my knowledge ☺ I’ve made over $200 at King.com and there are others that have made a ton more than me.

How to get started
So you’ve gone to King.com and decided it’s for you. Awesome! Sign up for a free account and do what you need to do to log in. Now you need to deposit funds with a credit card. Don’t worry they’re a safe and legit site and they’re not going to scam you like some others. They usually have 40,000-60,000 people playing online but have a huge player base that is continuing to grow. You can play with confidence, and by the way they’re part of Yahoo! Games.

The Ranking System
Like I said, you play other players to earn money. You simply have to beat the score of other players in order to win! There’s one thing you should know and that’s the ranking system. King.com was smart enough to create a ranking system where stronger players (players that actually win) get ranked higher and higher as they win so that losing players (whose ranking goes down as they lose) and new players don’t have to worry about playing high ranking and therefore strong players.

This makes it somewhat of a fair playing field as you won’t have to worry about playing the world champion of some game right off the bat, you’ll most likely be playing brand new players to that certain game, just like yourself.

I should note that from experience, if you win or score big in one of the huge multiplayer tournaments (like third among 3,000 players) then your ranking might jump big time. You’ll most likely win a lot of money for that one tournament, but you might have won more by beating weaker players on your way up. However, it’s hard to say though, so figure out the playing style that works for you.

Choosing the Type of Game to Play
There’s Puzzle, Strategy, Action, Card, Word, and Sports Games. The great thing is that King.com has added the Top 20 Games so that you can see what games are most popular and therefore giving you a high chance of having an opponent to play and hopefully beat to win money. If you play an unpopular game, it will take a long time before you get an opponent meaning you will have to wait before you can see the outcome of the game.

In general Puzzle, Strategy, and Action games seem to be the most popular. At the time of writing this article, games like Amazon Speed, Flash Diamond, Jungle Speed, and Love me Love Me Not are popular. You’re bound to find a game that you like.

Practice Makes Perfect!
When you’ve finally chosen a game to play, spend time to practice the game. Figure out what other players are scoring and see what the highest-ranking players in the world are scoring (or what their highest ever score was) so that you can gauge yourself as you go.

Once you start scoring a solid score regularly and know you can beat players at least at your level easily, start playing money games. Don’t jump into playing money games until you’re comfortable winning. I made that mistake initially as I had to deposit my initial $5 and then a subsequent $10, but haven’t looked back after that as I’ve made sure I was good enough to beat the competition before betting money.

Set Goals
I usually set a monetary goal to withdraw money so that I can keep my winnings. For example, I recently went on a huge winning run and ran $30 up to $90 and withdrew $60 to lock in profits and also give me a chance to earn more. I have since ran that $30 to $120 and am waiting for my previous withdrawal to complete so that I can withdraw again.

It’s fun if you can set goals (like a dinner with your significant other) and have that dinner from playing games! You’re obviously not going to become super rich doing this, but if you have some free time and like playing games, why not make some money doing it? You might be able to pay for something you’ve wanted just by spending some time having fun!

So what are you waiting for? Go play!
